The latest trend in apartment rentals, the apartment home – has come to Seattle. Over the last few years, real estate developers have turned their attention to creating “apartment communities” or “apartment homes”. This shift was in response to more people moving toward a more connected way of apartment living; where you know the person who lives next door to you.

In downtown Seattle, the Avalon Belltown is one of the award winning apartment home communities with some of the best features to be found anywhere. The apartment homes are built with the type of room design that you would find in a private home. In addition, the apartment community is staffed with attendants to respond promptly to service request from the residents and a website for resident support services.

What makes these luxury apartment homes appealing is the corporate approach that adds a business relationship dimension to apartment living, you are paying a fee and you are entitled to receive value in return.

The idea behind the apartment homes at Avalon Belltown and the other apartment communities throughout the country is to enhance the residential experience to make it more comprehensive; exercise rooms and other amenities such as an on-site cleaners, jogging trail and access to copier/fax services are provided fro the residents.

Inside your apartment home you will find even more features for easy communication and maintenance. Fully appointed kitchens and baths, plus lots of storage space make your apartment living comfortable.

With all of these features, it is clear that the management company has made a serious investment in customer care and is seeking to attract high quality tenants. Avalon Belltown is a low rise apartment home community, with studio, one and two bedroom floor plans. The average total area of a studio apartment is 463 square feet and the rental fee is approximately $1100.

The one and two bedroom apartments come is different size layouts. For a one bedroom apartment of 742 square feet your rental fee would be approximately $1350, where the same layout in 862 square feet rents for $1470.

A two bedroom apartment home start at 1172 with a rental fee of $1800 a month, in the largest apartment home with two bedrooms you get 1276 square feet for $2400 per month.

Most of the apartment home communities pride themselves on the benefits that they afford their residents. The apartments are equipped with washer/dryer/microwave appliances, pre-wired for multiple telephones, easy access to transportation, permitting pets and high speed Internet service is available.

The advantages of choosing an apartment home community are making them increasingly popular for individuals who want to spend their time focusing on their interests, instead of spending time looking for the neighborhood dry cleaners.

Moving to Seattle is a great idea if you manage to find a decent apartment in Seattle. The city, named after the Native American tribal Chief of the same name, has a picturesque locale and a number of beautiful neighborhoods. Despite the rains, the life here is vibrant and wonderful. First, how would you find good Seattle Washington apartments?

1. Sit Down and Make a List – Decide what qualities you need in the Seattle apartments and what you would consider leaving out if a suitable option presents itself. You could even narrow down your neighborhoods based on this. For example, if you want space for less rent you may have to go for a place at some distance form downtown since downtown rents are high and apartments small. If you want great view Greenlake is good. For young and vibrant environment Capitol Hill is the best and so on. Parking is difficult in most places hence if you have a car include reserved parking as well.

2. Decide How Far You Are Willing to Pay – It is no use seeing suitable apartments in Seattle and then finding them far beyond your means. Hence decide how much you can afford before going apartment hunting. Include every type of bills in the budget including possible transportation costs. There are good neighborhoods like Ballard where rents are okay and accommodations decent.

3. If You Could, Checkout the Neighborhoods – Seattle has a number of wonderful neighborhoods and it is difficult to choose among them just on hearsay. It would give you better idea about the places if you could personally visit the neighborhoods. This way you would know whether you should settle for a Seattle apartment in West Seattle where you have all those beautiful parks and trails, or whether you should go for Seattle apartments near city center. You may also find some “for rent” signs and be able to strike a good deal that way.

4. Peruse Local Newspapers – Such as The Stranger, Seattle Times, Seattle Post Intelligencer etc. They will all contain Seattle apartments for rent ads. You could also go online and look around.

5. Take Help from Friends and Forums – If you know anyone in Seattle, take help from them in finding the best neighborhood for you. If not, you could also ask around in online forums dedicated to Seattle or to Seattle apartments for rent. You could try Flickr, one of the Social Networking Sites, or even Yahoo questions.

Yes, it is possible to rent Seattle, Washington apartments on bad credit. So there is no need to put off moving to the city just because you have less than perfect credit history. The city, named after a Native American chief, has a lot to offer. It is known for its green environment. You have great outdoors here, great waters (Lake Washington and Puget Sound to name two), and great architecture. Points of recreation and arts such as the Benaroya Hall, 5th Avenue Theater, and Seattle Cinerama are also in Seattle. There is also the Space Needle here and the original Starbucks, as well as the Exotic Meat Company.

It is a great city to live in, as its 617,334 citizens will tell you (the only problem is the rains and you get used to the rains). Here are some ways by which you could get Seattle apartments for rent on bad credit.

1. Independent Home Owners – It is usually companies and corporations who insist on credit scores. It is also possible that in the case of companies, the clerk who deals with you would have difficulty tweaking the policies for you. Instead, if you approach independent owners, they are more likely to look at your rental history and income rather than your credit score. Hence look for Seattle apartments from independent owners. There would be ads from independent owners in local newspapers such as The Seattle Times and The Stranger.
2. Have a Guarantor – If you have a guarantor with a good credit score then you are likely to get good Seattle apartments for rent. The guarantor’s credit history would be enough to offset your own lack in the area. As long as you know someone in Seattle, you will be okay.
3. Pay a Bigger Deposit – If you are willing to pay a high deposit, then you will be able to find apartments in Seattle which could be rented out even on bad credit. Even companies may be willing on such terms if you take care to negotiate with higher ups rather than the clerks.
4. Co-rent your Seattle apartments – If you co-rent with a person who has a good credit history, then too you will be able to find an apartment for rent easily enough. You could look for possible roommates in The Stranger or Seattle Times. You could also look in websites or ask around in Seattle city forums.
5. Look on the Internet – There are many companies on the internet who specifically provide rental apartments in Seattle on bad credit. You could search for them and contact them for their rates.

Even though some people love Seattle, others would rather be a little farther away. There are several communities just outside of the city that are a little different. So if your next Seattle apartment doesn’t really belong right in the city, consider moving to Bellevue.

Regularly ranked as one of the best places to live in the United States — most recently winning 4th place from Money magazine — Bellevue is lovely, plus it’s got a great local economy with plenty of jobs.

The weather here is wonderful too, with average highs in the summer only reaching into mid-to-high 70s and winter’s coldest months averaging lows of 35 degrees. While this part of the Pacific Northwest does have plenty of cloudy skies, Bellevue only averages about 36 inches of precipitation each year — much less than many east-coast cities.

Full of culture and things to do, this Seattle Suburb has lovely museums, sculptures, botanical gardens, beach parks, trails, and other wonderful activities.

As far as apartments go, you’ll certainly be able to find plenty of them in the area — Bellevue has grown for decades — but here’s one apartment that really stands out called Kendall Ridge.

Located at 15414 NE 18th Street in Bellevue, these apartments go the extra mile to take care of residents. For example, they offer:

A preferred employer program with many major local employers like Microsoft, T-Mobile, Infosys, HCL, TATA Consulting, Amazon, and more
An included high-speed Internet, cable, and phone package
Generous pet policy
A park-like setting for the grounds
Easy access to freeways
Immediate access to major bus lines
Newly-renovated studio, 1-, and 2-bedroom units ranging between 450 – 900 square feet
Reasonable pricing between $775 – 1,217 per month
A beautiful pool and spa in a tropical outdoor setting

And that’s not all; this Seattle-area apartment is also located next to some of my favorite places:

Trader Joe’s – I love shopping here. When I’m rich I want to buy everything they carry
Goodwill – probably the nicest thrift store I’ve ever been to. Well-stocked and clean
Taqueria Guadalajara – I don’t really have an eating problem, it’s more of a Taco problem — this truck is bad for me, but I love it anyway
Kitanda Brazilian Bakery & Espresso – I lived in Brazil for a few years in the 90s and this place takes me back every time. Yum!

You don’t have to take my word that Kendall Ridge is the best Seattle-area apartment complex you’ll find outside of the city. Instead, stop by and take a tour. Eat at one of the nearby restaurants, check out the delicious pool. You’ll fall in love.

Living right in the hub of the city is a thrill, but sometimes, it’s just too exciting to live in Seattle. Rent an apartment in an outlying city and you may find that you really appreciate living in a smaller place with more of a sense of community. Here are three major cities that make up a large part of the Seattle metro area:

Tacoma, WA – population: 199,637; average apartment rent: $866; distance: 35 miles

Situated right between Seattle to the north and Olympia, the State capital, to the south, Tacoma is the third largest city in Washington and has over 50 parks and open spaces.

In spite of its long-standing rough, gritty image, this city’s downtown district has undergone revitalization over the last 20 years and has been well upgraded. The Museum of Glass is here and offers glass-blowing demonstrations for visitors.

Featuring many cultural attractions, and a local farmers’ market, this city has a surprisingly strong sense of unity for how large it is. Nicknamed “The City of Destiny,” Tacoma invites you to join your destiny with its own.

Bellevue, WA – population: 126,626; average apartment rent: $1,264; distance: 10 miles

In French, Bellevue means “beautiful view,” which is reflective of the city’s apt name — residents feel peace and comfort from the natural beauties surrounding them here.

Recently ranked as the 4th best place to live in America, Bellevue hosts many recurring events, has beautiful weather, and only receives 36 inches of rain each year.

Bellevue is the nearest of these cities to downtown Seattle, but even though it is only 10 miles away, the commute can easily take 30 minutes.

Everett, WA – population: 103,019; average apartment rent: $912; distance: 30 miles

The climate in Everett is divine, with average high temperatures ranging between 45 – 74 degrees and average lows between 34 – 54 degrees. The scenery here is spectacular and the city is covered in parks, gardens, waterfront, and other lovely places.

Artistic culture isn’t as pronounced here as in some of the other cities on this list, but there is a beautiful library, a performing arts center, and a delightful children’s museum.

If you’re moving outside of Seattle, rent an apartment in one of the three cities listed above. They each have personality of their own, though, so you’ll want to block out some time to get to know them and make sure you and the city will be good for each other. Happy hunting!
